I had such an amazing experience at this opticians from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and genuinely cared about helping me find the perfect glasses. The eye test was thorough and explained in a way that was easy to understand, which made me feel completely at ease.

The selection of frames was fantastic, with styles to suit every taste and budget, and the team were so patient while helping me choose the right pair. Nothing felt rushed, and their honest advice made a huge difference.

What really stood out was the level of customer service — friendly, attentive, and truly going above and beyond. This time around I didn’t need any new glasses and was not encouraged to buy glasses I didn’t need like my previous opticians. I left feeling valued as a customer and would highly recommend this opticians to anyone looking for exceptional care and quality service.

I had such a fantastic experience at this optician! From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and really attentive. The whole process felt smooth and professional, and nothing was too much trouble.

A special mention has to go to Rhianna (I hope I’ve got her name right!) who helped us choose glasses — she was absolutely amazing. She was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely took the time to help find the perfect pair. Her advice made a huge difference, and she made what can sometimes be a stressful decision feel easy and enjoyable.

Just popped into Bearwood branch and asked for the nose pads on my glasses to be replaced if possible a very polite and professional man said yes he could asked me to take a seat in a few minutes he returned and handed me my glasses and said all done when I asked him what I owed he said.thanks there is no charge for that … I couldn’t believe that in this day and age I was actually able to get some thing for free … five stars for. Brilliant service at Bearwood branch. From booking the appointment to the actual appointment. Friendly approachable staff, thorough eye and hearing test. Reasonable prices. Email and text reminder for appointment time. Nice range of styles for men, women and kids. My first time using Scrivens and will definitely be returning for future eye tests and glasses.

It's on the wrong place on the map. It's the other side of aldi. Not next to the pub.Spent 20 minutes try to get my eyes and hearing checked in a charity shop. Went 31/jan. Hearing test was seen promptly on time. ( I'm punctual, I expect it of others) staff we nice polite, normal, slightly mad, again I like character. 10 out of 10.🤗

I went to specsavers to pick up my son new classes and the staff was very rude , had me and son waiting a long time customers was coming and going before me , I would not recommend this shop in Bearwood

First time going here and dont think id go anywhere else .friendly staff went though everything with you before you made a choice about which ones to pick.They was brilliant with my daughter aswell talking to her about options of having contact lenses and the benefits but went for glasses .would recommend scrivens .

I concur with the positive reviews written and uploaded about this Store and the high standard and excellent Services.
From commencing through due process I most certainly felt the standard of Service is excellent. I was provided an appointment within 24 hours.

Upon entering the store for the second time to attend my appointment, I was treated very professional whilst going through the Administration and further information not included on their computer database throughout the initial meeting with warm, friendly and respectful. No problems or issues, even though I disclosed I am in need of an NHS service and I can provide confirmation of entitlement. But was informed there was no need.
Not once did the staff member confirm the process and contract held through the NHS.
If it had been I would not of wasted theirs or my own precious time.

I was escorted to the Optician and again I had no issues with this gentleman's care and professionalusm.

After an exceptionally thorough Eye Examination. I was then escorted back to the same, polite and respectful person dealing with my case. This continuation is excellent and comes highly appreciated.

It was at this stage I was supported with my choice of frames and how I preferred my Bi-focals was also proactively and supportive
enquired into. So naturally without any thoughts of poor services, I then chose fthe type of frames and the style of the lens themselves.

We then went back to the desk and further Administration and data was collected. My queries about a discount for a second pair of glasses was fully explained to me. Again all positive. It shows a high standard of Communication Skills, Social skills and Emotional Intelligence. Precious skills these days which are few and far between.
Customer services were profoundly excellent.

Then I was absolutely mortified and extremely shocked and disturbed somewhat. I was quoted nearly £200. except for a couple of pounds. I enquired :surely this is a mistake?" Apparently not, it Is Company policy to only be serviced with an Eye Test and a Perscription with the discounted voucher for £79. but another assistant may not of been aware how rude and de-humanizing she was, when she expressed, "you reserve the right to take the prescription we provide and attend another Service which maybe able to assist you and meet your personal need!!!"
But as a matter she is quite young, so without wishing to sound sterio-typical the younger the customer interface assistant is the more aggressive rudeness we of an elderly, disabled persuasion get verbally attacked as they see and percieve us as Soft Targets.

Upon being informed of this policy, I then challenged the Company policy by clarifying the NHS Patients charter and the NHS Constitution which provides all services "FREE AT POINT OF NEED."
This includes Dentists as well as Optician Services.

The Bearwood Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care branch is located in the middle of the high street between Greggs and The Card Factory, just a few doors down from Aldi. There are numerous bus services which stop on or near Bearwood Road, including numbers 128, 9, 11, 47 and 48.
