As you may be aware, many services within the NHS currently operate a system that allows you to book an appointment directly with relevant NHS Service Providers.
This will speed up assessment waiting times for patients, as well as providing you with the peace of mind that the patients care has been properly arranged.
The system has recently been expanded to allow you to book appointments with the Adult Hearing Services within your local community. To arrange these appointments please follow the steps below. Please click on the images to enlarge.
Step 1: Open E-Referral (Choose & Book) and select ‘Diagnostic Physiological Measurement’ from the Specialty section.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Clinic Type’ drop down and select one of following options: ‘Audiology – Hearing Assess / Reassess’
Now click ‘Search’ and you will be supplied with the list of providers within your area.
Step 3: Now you will be able to see all of the Adult Hearing Service locations within your local area. For each of these locations you will be able to see whether they offer a ‘Directly Bookable’ service.
To book an appointment, simply choose a location and click the ‘Appointment Search’ button.
Step 4: You will now have access to the Provider’s diary at that location and will be able to choose an appointment which is convenient for your patient.
If you have any queries regarding the use of the NHS e-Referral Service Directly Bookable system, please speak to the individual provider concerned and they will be able to advise you further.
