The new team at a Blandford Forum optician introduced themselves to the community with a charity coffee morning that included a special visit from the Town Mayor.
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care on Market Place hosted the event as their first community initiative since arriving at the branch. The team, led by branch manager Gemma Redford, welcomed customers old and new, along with Blandford Forum Town Mayor, Councillor Hugo Mieville, to enjoy a sweet treat while raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
The coffee morning created a warm and welcoming space for people to connect and show support for those living with dementia and their families.
Town Mayor, Councillor Hugo Mieville, commented: “I was delighted to attend the event organised by Scrivens in Blandford to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society – such a thoughtful initiative. It was great fun enjoying coffee and cake while chatting with Gemma and the team and I wish them every success with their future fundraising efforts.”
Branch Manager, Gemma Redford, said: “We wanted our first community event to reflect our commitment to both excellent customer care and supporting important causes. Alzheimer’s Society is Scrivens’ chosen charity for the tenth successive year, and this coffee morning was a wonderful way to introduce ourselves to customers old and new while raising awareness and vital funds.
“We want to thank Councillor Mieville and our wonderful customers for their warm welcome and generosity, which made the morning such a success.
“The team looks forward to serving the Blandford community and hosting more events like this in the future.”
