A loyal customer of more than 50 years was chosen to officially launch the new branch of a North Finchley opticians.
Retired local government officer Joan Phillips, aged 90, performed the honours at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care on High Road. The delighted guest was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a gift voucher as a thank you.
Branch manager Soraya Forbes said: “Joan is a lovely lady who has entrusted her eye care to us since 1966 and we thought it fitting if she launched our new premises.”
Joan, who has two children, five grand children and six great-grandchildren, said: “It was a surprise to be asked to open the branch. I have been a customer all these years because it is convenient and I always get good service.”
Scrivens relocated from its former premises on High Road and the new branch boasts the latest digital eye examination equipment, and a new and updated range of frames, including the latest designer names. A full range of hearing care services is provided too.
Offers, including a £10 eye test and up to 50% off frames, will also celebrate the launch.
