All eyes on sailing champion who launched Lymington opticians
Post on 5th August 2024
A Lymington-based Team GB sailing athlete stepped into the spotlight when she was chosen to officially open a newly relocated optician in the town.
Vita Heathcote, 23, performed the honours at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, which has moved to a larger unit on High Street. She received a gift to mark the occasion and in recognition of her loyal custom over the past 18 years, having had her first eye test at Scrivens at just five years old. The Scrivens team have also sponsored Vita’s new prescription sunglasses in readiness for her summer of competitive sailing.
The new store now includes an additional testing room, bringing the total to three. Customers can also choose from an updated range of frames, including a wider selection of the latest designer names.
Branch manager Frances Ludwig said: “We have invested in the new store and wanted to celebrate its upgrade and relocation in a memorable way. Vita is a valued customer who’s trusted us with her eyesight, spectacle and contact lens needs for almost two decades and was the perfect choice for our VIP. She always brightens our day when visiting the branch and we’re so pleased to support her summer of sailing with some new sponsored prescription sunglasses. We wish her the very best of luck!”
Vita, who is set to represent the country this summer in Paris, was honoured to be asked to reveal the store’s new look.
“I felt very honoured to be chosen by the team to officially open the newly relocated branch and mark the occasion with them and my family. It was a wonderful surprise!”
“The entire team at Scrivens is superb and always make me and my family feel very welcome; that’s why I recommend them to everyone I know. They go above and beyond to ensure customers feel the benefits of this family-run business, and their service is second to none. They have provided me with expert care for many years, and thanks to them, I know my eyesight is in safe hands.”
