Having fun whilst raising awareness of dementia on Elf Day!

Post on 13th December 2023

This year, once again, a number of Scrivens Branches participated in taking part in Alzheimer’s Society Christmas Fundraiser – ELF DAY!

This was a fantastic opportunity for us to get in the festive spirit and raise awareness of the link between hearing loss and dementia whilst raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society.

Dementia is one of the biggest health and social challenges of our time.  There is currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia, many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone. This is a cause that is close to many people’s hearts as research has shown that around 23 million of the UK population have a family member or close friend with dementia.

From dressing up as Elves for sponsorships, selling cakes and books to quiz’s and raffles in branch, we wanted to raise even more funds for Alzheimer’s Society to help provide care for the people of our communities impacted by dementia.
