Loyal customer cuts the ribbon as Barton Upon Humber opticians gets a fresh new look

A Barton Upon Humber opticians has demonstrated its commitment to the high street by investing in its long term future.

The former Eyesite opticians on High Street has been acquired by family business Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care and has now fully rebranded.

And loyal customer Jean Bedford, 77, was chosen to unveil the new look branch.

Branch manager Rachel Ali said: “We are delighted to be officially part of the Scrivens family. As a collective, Scrivens is dedicated to offering the very best, easily accessible eye and hearing care to local people, and this refresh demonstrates our long term commitment to the Barton community.

“We are thrilled that Jean was able to act as our VIP and reveal our new signage.”

As well as the signage, Scrivens has introduced a new range of frames for the summer months and a hearing care service.

Jean added: “I was surprised and delighted when Rachel invited me to cut the ribbon.  I enjoyed the occasion and wish the team the best of luck for the future.”

As part of the celebrations, the family owned opticians also held a fundraising raffle and cake sale in aid of its charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society.

Rachel added: “We were delighted to support Alzheimer’s Society as part of the day and would like to thank everyone who took part and supported the cause. Scrivens has partnered with Alzheimer’s Society for 15 years – it’s a cause close to all our hearts.

“As opticians and hearing care specialists, we see first-hand how hearing loss and cognitive decline can affect people’s lives, and supporting this vital work is something we feel strongly about as a business.”
