Open your eyes to contact lenses
Post on 7th October 2022
Scrivens is looking to open more people’s eyes to the benefits of contact lenses which are lighter, more comfortable and offer greater clarity than ever before thanks to advances in technology.
We carried out a customer survey which found there is still some way to go to overcome people’s reticence to give them a go, with 52 per cent saying they would not consider them as an alternative to glasses.
Fear of touching their eyes or putting something in their eyes was the most common reason for never trying contact lenses. For those who overcome any reservations, the benefits and convenience are clear and 57 per cent said they wore their contact lenses every day.
Our branches are keen to spread awareness of the difference contact lenses can make to people’s lifestyle and vision and have made it easy for people to take the first steps. They can come into branch and talk to staff who can explain what is involved, detail the benefits and bust any myths around the comfort or suitability of contact lenses.
Anyone worried about putting them in their eyes can book an assessment with an optician and experience contact lenses first-hand. It’s free and there’s no obligation to take it further. It’s an ideal opportunity for those who would like to try contact lenses but who need a little more reassurance or support to do something about it.
