Post on 4th February 2025

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care’s Contact Lens and Professional Services Director, Jeet Saimbi, is retiring at the end of this month (Feb 2025) after an extraordinary 50-and-a-half-year career with the company, 25 years of which she served on the Board of Directors.

Having emigrated from Kenya in 1966, Jeet began her career with Scrivens in 1974 aged 21 and was instrumental in shaping the company’s success across multiple decades. Starting as a contact lens optician in various Midlands stores, she rose through the ranks to lead the contact lens business in 1992, before her appointment to the Board of Directors in 1999.

Throughout her tenure, Jeet has overseen multiple aspects of the business, including contact lenses, professional services, training and frames and equipment procurement. She also played a central role in successfully integrating hearing care services with the company’s optical business over the past 15 years.

Nicholas Georgevic, Chairman of Scrivens, commented: “Scrivens has been incredibly fortunate to have someone of Jeet’s ability and impeccable personal qualities working within our business for over half a century. We owe her an enormous debt of gratitude for the drive and passion which she has shown throughout her career, always working with the very best interests of our business in mind. We wish her a long, fulfilling and richly earned retirement.”

Established in Birmingham in 1938, Scrivens is a family-run business operating 166 high-street stores across England and Wales. With 1,000 employees, the company continues its tradition of providing quality optical and hearing care services to communities nationwide. For more information, visit www.scrivens.com.
