Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care Challenges Communities to Turn Up Their World

Post on 2nd March 2026

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care is marking World Hearing Day (3rd March) with the launch of its ‘Turn Up Your World’ campaign, encouraging the nation to take a closer look at hearing health and rediscover what they might be missing.

With around 1 in 6 people in the UK experiencing age-related hearing loss[1], Scrivens recognises that better hearing isn’t just about turning up the volume – it’s about enhancing every aspect of daily life.

Scrivens’ Head of Marketing, Claire Hyde, said: “So many customers come to us having put off getting their hearing checked for years and then they can’t believe the difference it makes. That’s really what ‘Turn Up Your World’ is about – helping people to reconnect with the things they love, whether that’s a chat over coffee or hearing their grandchildren properly for the first time in a while.”

World Hearing Day, marked annually on March 3rd, serves as a global reminder to prioritise ear and hearing care. The Scrivens team is using this opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of regular hearing checks and to break down barriers that prevent people from seeking help.

Untreated hearing loss can lead to social isolation, difficulties in communication and a reduced quality of life. However, many people delay seeking support due to stigma or simply not recognising the gradual changes in their hearing.

The ‘Turn Up Your World’ campaign will feature free hearing screenings at Scrivens branches across England and Wales, where knowledgeable team members will be on hand to provide advice and support to anyone concerned about their hearing health. For those who are time-poor or find it hard to travel, Scrivens also offers a specially developed online hearing test, although this serves only as an indicator and doesn’t replace a professionally conducted hearing assessment.

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care is a family run business that was established over 85 years ago in 1938. It has 166 high street stores in towns and cities across England and Wales, with 1,000 employees. For more information, visit www.scrivens.com.
