Scrivens sees support for Alzheimer’s Society grow
Post on 26th February 2019
We have raised £20,281 for our charity of the year Alzheimer’s Society to bring the total to nearly £85,000.
The partnership which started in 2015 will continue in 2019 with our network of 180 branches keen to carry on raising awareness of the disease and increasing funds for the cause.
In the last 12 months colleagues and customers embraced the campaign with sponsored challenges, cake and book sales, fancy dress fun and competitions for children to design a pair of glasses and a book cover.
Operations Director, Adrian Ellis said: “The response from staff and customers throughout the business has been fantastic. Alzheimer’s touches so many families in the communities we serve and the need for care and support continues to grow. We chose Alzheimer’s Society as our primary charity partner because of the vital work it does and because of the now accepted evidence of a link between uncorrected hearing loss and dementia.
“I’m proud of the efforts made and know our staff will once again show they care by continuing to raise awareness and funds for a charity which means so much to us all.”
Hayley Woodyatt, Senior Regional Corporate Partnerships Executive for Alzheimer’s Society said: “We really appreciate the wholehearted support of Scrivens and are so pleased our partnership will continue. We need help to fund services to support people to live well with the condition now, and to help find a cure in the future.”
Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity in the UK for people with dementia and those who care for them. Alzheimer’s Society estimates 23 million people have a close friend or family member with dementia.
