Seeing their way to long service

Post on 19th May 2022

Congratulations to three loyal employees who are each celebrating 25 years with family owned business Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care.

Branch manager Ann Burgess Owen, optometrist Nadine Williamson and IT support and systems tester Raj Morar have all clocked up the impressive milestone and received gifts of their choice to mark the occasion.

Ann has worked 24 of those years at our Cotteridge branch after initially joining as a mobile dispensing optician. She opted for gift vouchers to spend on her garden and revealed it was not her only special milestone. She is also celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary to husband John Owen, a fellow dispensing optician, in June.

Optometrist Nadine Williamson said the 25 years of delivering eye care to the local community in Peterborough had flown by. Enjoying her job, having colleagues who were like her work family and being given the time to look after patients had all played a part in that long service.

Raj, who provides IT support to staff around the country, received a watch at the company’s Birmingham head office, where he is based. He credits working with a good team and a good company for his longevity. In 2019 he received Scrivens’ top accolade, the Sasha Georgevic Award, for outstanding contribution.
