William Crowns 90th birthday with special gift

A loyal customer who shares his 90th birthday with the Queen was royally treated by a Norwich opticians at a special presentation.
William Willimott received a £250 voucher and his wife Gwen a bouquet of flowers at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care on Plumstead Road to celebrate the milestone.
Branch manager Kevin Hall said: “We think it’s a fantastic achievement for the Queen to reach 90 and a great cause for celebration.
“When we realised William was born on the same day as Her Majesty we could not let it go unnoticed. We wanted to recognise this important day and make him feel royally special, and in doing so show our appreciation of the Queen too.” Norwich-born William, who lives locally, has been a Scrivens customer for many years. A retired brick layer, he has two sons and six grandchildren.
Wife Gwen said: “He was excited about the presentation and appreciated the gesture. It’s made his birthday celebrations even more special.”
