A nine-year-old girl from Herne Bay owes her life to a routine eye test at her local opticians which revealed she had a dangerous build-up of fluid on the brain.
Branches around the country spread some seasonal cheer by celebrating special customers in our festive surprise campaign.
Staff were asked to nominate people who they felt deserved a treat so we could present them with festive goodies. The reasons for nominations varied and showed that community spirit, kindness and good humour in the face of challenges remains strong in the areas we serve.

Emily Barrass, aged 50, praised the care of quick-thinking optometrist Andy Winnard at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care as he carried out the eye test, realised something was seriously wrong and acted promptly.
